God of War Laufey Collector’s Edition Comes With a Big Catch

Release · 13 Oct 2026

Sony has opened pre-orders for the God of War Laufey — Collector Box, a limited edition bundle for the next God of War game. It includes a statue and a card deck, but it leaves out one thing fans might expect: the game itself.

Release date

God of War Laufey is a standalone action-adventure title developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is scheduled for release on February 16, 2027 for the PlayStation 5. Collector Box pre-orders opened on October 13, 2026 at 10:00 am local time.

What’s in the Collector Box

According to ComingSoon and PlayStation Lifestyle, the box contains:

• a light-up resin statue of Faye, capturing her “lethal agility in action”
• a 51-card Oracle Deck with bespoke illustrations, each card carrying a meaning inspired by Faye’s journey
• a Mini Artbook curated by the development team, featuring concept art of the characters, creatures and environments

The catch

The Collector Box does not include a physical copy of the game or a digital download code. The listing states, “God of War Laufey game sold separately.” Buyers will need to purchase the game separately, as the Standard or Digital Deluxe Edition, either by pre-ordering it or buying it after launch.

What it is

Players take on the role of Laufey, also known as Faye — a Jötunn (Giant) warrior, rebel leader against the Æsir gods, Kratos’s wife and Atreus’s mother. Her story begins right after her death in the Norse saga, when she unexpectedly wakes in the Everywhen, a transcendent afterlife realm where magic originates and gods from multiple mythologies clash for power. Faye fights to protect the plans she left behind to keep Kratos and Atreus safe.

Where to get it

The Collector Box comes in highly limited quantities, exclusively direct from PlayStation where available, at a recommended retail price of $149.99 USD / €149.99 / £129.99. The game and the Collector Box can both be pre-ordered now.
